On each featured artist's TPR page, there are details concerning the kind of collaboration offered. Click on the DOWNLOAD GUIDE TRACKS link on that page to be able to download the appropriately formatted stem tracks for your recording program. (Pro Tools, Garageband, mp3s etc.)
Unzip the folder and open the associated digital audio application or import the mp3 files into your recording software (be sure to set the proper tempo for the song in your DAW)
Using the provided stem audio files as a guide, record your own musical ideas (or use the stems as a basis for your remix if the contest involves remixing)
When you've perfected your part and would like to submit it, we'll need 2 things from you:
1) An audio file of your idea, mixed in with the stem tracks (128kbps mp3 format)
2) An audio file of only your idea, without the stems mixed in (128kbps mp3 format)
Return to www.thepublicrecord.com, login, and navigate back to that artist?s page. Click on the Upload Submissions link in the top right hand column, select the Audio link, fill in the required information and select your files to be uploaded. Be sure to upload well before the deadline incase a technical problem arises and delays your submission.
Make sure to watch the daily video updates to see if we used or featured your part.
Please keep in mind that if we choose your part to be included in the final mix, we may contact you directly to obtain a higher quality audio file.
